CHRISTCHURCH TEAMS WIN JUNIOR MATCHES

Christchurch Technical Old Boys defeated Greymouth Technical Old Boys by 11 points to 3 in a junior Rugby match played at Rugby Park on Saturday on a heavy ground. Despite the wet conditions both sets of backs handled the ball well. The Christchurch back line showed greater penetration and was able to find gaps in the Greymouth defence on several occasions. Albion had the better forward pack and made good use of dribbling rushes. The visitors’ backs, however, were not at home in the wet conditions and missed several good opportunities. For Albion tries were scored by Hartnell (2), Dunbar and Stewart. For Albion Stewart and Hartnell, in the backs and Sutherland, McDonald and Crooks (forwards) were prominent.
