61 YEARS IN EMPLOY OF STOCK FIRM

DUNEDIN, This Day (P.A.).— Starting at the age of 18, Mr John D. P. Keenan was 61 years in the employ of Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd, and when he died at 79 at his home at Burnside yesterday he was the oldest employee of the Dunedin branch. His two sons and one grandson are with the company. At the, time of his death Mr Keenan was also the oldest stock agent still taking part in the Burnside stock sales. Although he retired from active work as an agent about 23 years ago, Mr Keenan continued to attend the sales until he was taken ill three weeks ago. Mr Keenan is survived by two sons, Messrs Harry Keenan (Timaru) and Sydney Keenan (Dunedin), and one daughter, Mrs M. Copland (Burnside). His wife predeceased him.
