Work on the construction of the new Post Office at Hokitika is reported to be making steady progress. The foundations have been completed and the erection of the beam framework for the actual building is in progress. The new Post Office is being erected two feet above the ground on an area of 3000 square feet and its foundations are sufficiently strong to enable the erection of a four-storey building. The present plan provides for two storeys.
