CONSENT TO SALE OF NGAHERE HOTEL

The sale of a Ngahere hotel from C. E. Cutbush to M. Moore, of Blackball, was approved by the Westland Land Valuation Committee, sitting at Greymouth this morning, at the price sought, £3500. Mr A. E. Wogan, appearing for the Crown, said that an analysis of the balance sheet had given a figure of £4690 for the hotel as a going concern and less stock and furniture. The value of the property and goodwill had been worked out at £3580, so there appeared to be no objection to the sale being granted. Pointing out that the vendor had owned the hotel for only a year, Mr C. R. McGinley (counsel for vendor) stated that the vendor was making nothing out of the sale, other than the price paid, the cost of improvements and £IQO or so.
