Roy, the sitting member, has been endorsed as the National Party candidate .for the Clutha electorate — (P.A.) Mr S. E. Cox left this morning for Auckland to take up an appointment as assistant coach to an Auckland golf club. Captain A. M. Lucas, former master of the Union Steam Ship Company’s freighter, Waikawa, arrived at Auckland aboard the Wanganella from Sydney yesterday. He will command the company’s trans-Pacific cargo vessel Waihemo, which is awaiting a berth in the stream. —(P.A.) Aii’ Commodore P. F. Farmer arrived at Auckland in the Wanganella yesterday, accompanied by his wife, on a year’s holiday visit to New Zealand. He was formerly chief accounts officer in the Far East under Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park and in the Middle East under Marshal of the Pvoyal Air Force Lord Tedder.—(P.A.) Mr Heniy Forbes Calder, newlyappointed liason officer for the United Kingdom Ministry of Pensions, will arrive in New Zealand on Wednesday. He will serve with the Repatriation Commission in Australia and the War Pensions Department in New Zealand. He will help the Australian and New Zealand authorities dealing with imperial pensions and will be available to give advice on individual cases. He will be stationed at the headquarters cf the Repatriation Commission in Melbourne but hopes to pay regular visits to New Zealand. —(P.A.) Guests at the Albion Hotel include: Messrs P. J.
