OVER 200 PERSONS ISOLATED BY FLOODS IN N.S.W.

SYDNEY, This Day (Rec. 11 a.m.). —More than 200 persons have been isolated in the Lower Burragorang valley,-40 miles south-west of Sydney, since Saturday morning by floods which have covered at least four bridges crossing the Wollondilly, Nattai and Cox rivers. It was reported early today that the rivers are falling and there is no danger to property. The majority of the marooned people are Sydney residents holidaying at guest houses in the valley. Following heavy rains in the catchment area the Wollondilly river rose 12. feet in a few hours and Cox’s river 10 feet. Heavy rain has fallen in New South Wales during the past three days. On the central coast, from Hawkesbury to Catharine Hill bay, the average fall was 8.37 in. Sydney enjoyed fine sunny weather yesterday and today with scattered thunderstorms of short duration.
