IOW SHOWING: Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in “Meet the Ghosts.” Probably the most outragiously comial film in which the incomparable Bud Abbott and Lou Costello have yet appeared is their latest, “Meet the Ghosts.” The picture guarantees to bring gales of laughter as the two funnymen try to escape from a maze Oj horror The story concerns Dracula’s •Tip from Europe with the remains of Frankenstein’s Monster. He tries to exchange Costello’s harmless little brain for the dangerous gray matter in the Monster’s head. Lou Chaney, who becomes the Wolf Man only when .the .’ull moon rises, gangs up with Bud ano Lou to prevent the evil bit of lend’ease. Abbott and the Wolf Man manage to rescue Costello just as Dracula and his helper. Miss Aubert .are preparing for the cranial transfer off the Florida coast. The capers leading up to the final outcome provide" an hour and a half of laugh-filled suspence. Bud and Lou are their same old selves, exploiting every situation to the fullest extent to get laughs, shivers and shocks. THE ROOKLYN SHOW The Regent Theatre was packed again last evening for the Rooklyn Show, which will conclude a successful season at Greymouth this evening. “The Amazing Mr Rooklyn” was again the star turn, entertaining and thrilling patrons with his illusions and manipulations. The vocal side of the show of a high standard with Harry

Mossfield (a splendid baritone) and Leonora Laye (soprano) responding to encores. The Probettes (acrobats and hand-balancers), were second only to Mr Rooklyn in popularity. The comedy was handled by Joe Lawman and Clin Cook.
