CHILDREN TO SUPPLY OWN TOWELS AT BLAKETOWN SCHOOL
A unanimous decision that the children should provide themselves with individual towels rather than rely on community towels supplied by the association, was reached at the monthly meeting of the Blaketown Home and School Association recently. Mr J. W. Walton presided at the meeting and there was a good attendance of members. It was decided that the school picnic, postponed from February 26, be held at Omoto on March 19. The secretary reported that the new sewing machine had been purchased and was now in use.
A women’s committee was appointed to take charge of the catering at the primary schools’ athletic sports meeting on April 8. At the conclusion of the meeting, two films were shown by Mr M. B. Sheard, one a repeat screening of the Blaketown Rugby Club’s Jubilee, and the other in technicolour, showed some excellent views of South Westland.
