WOOL PRICES AT WANGANUI UP TO DECENT LEVELS

(P.A.) WANGANUI, This Day. Early realisations at the Wanganui wool sale today indicated that values are about on a par with recent fixtures. The Continent and Bradford showed keen interest, with New Zealand mills paying prices in the top bracket for lots suitable for their requirements. These were, in most cases, the finer kinds. Nineteen bales of southdown at 40d produced the top price in the early section of the sale. Several lots of southdown and south down cross lambs went to 37d and 38d. New Zealand mills and the Continent being the buyers. Fine ewes’ wool was inclined to be slightly erratic of sale.
