The best of the yarding ride from 28s to 365, good from 23s £ 27s and ordinary and backward from 17s 6d to 225. Top price was 59s 6d for a line of 126 Romney two-tooths of excellent and two-tooth Corriedales made ’ up to 57s . \e best of the yarding made o2s 6d to S3s 6d good from 45s to 51s, medium 38s to 445, and ordinary and culls down to 265. For the best of the adult ewes, prices up 10s or more on recent dateo were paid in several instances, and the rise over the whole yarding was fully 5s a head. Good fresh station e wes made from 32s 6d to 355, with the best up to 42s medium made 27s to 32s good sound mouthed ewes 24s to 30s, ana aged, plain and inferior from lbs to °3s .FAT LAMBS—The sale was keen for all classes, and values were, fully 2s a head above last weeks rates, lop price was 49s 7d for the best of a large ine sold on account of a client w. F'AT SHEEP.—The demand was keen for all classes, with the best wethers and butchers’ ewes about 2s a head above last week’s rates-, and plainer sorts from par to Is a head dearer. Values were:—Extra prime heavy wethers, to 58s 6cl; prime heavy wethers, 50s Id to 555; prime mediumweight wethers, 44s to 49s 6d; ordinary and light wethers, 34s 6d to 435; extra prime ewes, to 42s Id; prime ewes 28s 6d to 33s 6d; medium ewes, 23s 6d to 26s 6d; light and plain ewes, 20s 6d to 235. , , x. t FAT CATTLE.—For the best steers, the demand was steady at prices from par to a shade lower than they were last week. Heifers were up to £1 a head cheaper for the plainer sorts, and the old and plain cows which made up the bulk of the yarding, were difficult to sell. Best beef made to 67s 6d per 1001 b, good from 525. 6d to 57s 6d, medium 50s to 52s 6d; best cow 42s 6d to 455, secondary cow 35s to 37s 6d. Values were:—Extra prime heavy steers, to £3O 2s 6d; prime heavy steers. £23 to £26 10s; prime medium-weight steers, £lB to £22; ordinary and light steers, £l3 10s to £l7; extra prime heifers, to £22 7s 6d; prime heifers, £l5 to £l7 10s; ordinary and light heifers, £8 to £l4; extra prime cows, to £l6 12s 6d; prime cows, £8 to £11; ordinary and light cows, £5 to £7 10s. VEALERS—At the end of the sale bids were very difficult to secure. Prime large veaiers,' made to £l3, others £7 6s to £lO 3s 6d, best suckers £5 8s 6d io £6 16s, medium suckers £3 8s 6d to £5 Is, large calves 56s to 635, medium calves 36s to 545, and small and rougn down to 16s. STORE CATTLE.—Most of the entry was macle up of- cull dairy cows and an assortment of yearlings. One pen ot 14 18-months Shorthorn steers made £8 6s. Cull cows made up to £7, potting bulls up to £l6.
DAIRY CATTLE—The heifers met a good sale, ancj made prices ranging irom £3O to £33 10s. Ordinary heifers made £l6 to £23, and others down to £ll'. The best of the cows made up to £23, average £l4 to £lB, medium £lO to £l3, and rough and inferior down to £6.
FAT FlGS—Choppers were in medium supply but values showed no change. In the bacon section the yarding was again heavy, and although vfie saie was good, values were easier all round by 4s to 6s a head. Values were:—Light porkers, £4 4s 6d to £4 14s 6d; medium porkers, £4 17s 6d to £5 3s 6d; heavy porkers. £5 7s 6d to £5 17s 6d. Average'price per lb, Hid to Is 3d. Choppers, £4 11s to £7 18s 6d; light Laccners, £6 2s 6d to £6 12s 6d; medium baconers, £6 13s 6d to £6 17s 6d; heavy baconers, £7 2s 6d to £7 9s 6d. Average price per lb, 10?-d to lid. STORE PIGS.—The yarding consisted mainly of weaners with a few pons of medium and large stores. Values for weaners were better by 3s to 4s a head, and large stores by 4s to 5s a head. Values were:—Small weaners, 14s to 18s; best weaners, 20s to 255; slips, 26s to 30s; small stores, 32s to 38s; medium stores, 40s to 50s;. large stores, £3 to £3 12s.
