FIFTY TRADESMEN CEASE WORK AS PROTEST

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day.. Fifty tradesmen ceased work early this morning at the Westfield works of R. and W. Hellaby Ltd, and notified the management that they would not resume While fumes continued to come across from the adjacent fertiliser plant of Kempthorne Prosser Ltd. The tradesmen include carpenters, plumbers and painters. It is understood that they were still not back at work early this afternoon. Discussions with the principals of the tWo firms are proceeding.
