RUGBY LEAGUE SYDNEY TEAM’S WIN

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 17. Giving their best exhibition to date, Western Suburbs, the champion Sydney Rugby League team, avenged the first defeat of their Auckland tour by beating Ponsonby on Saturday by 25 points to 17. The visiting backs combined more effectively than in any earlier match on the tour. Tries for Western Suburbs were scored by Milton (2), Holman, Horder, Rodda, Walsh and Seery. Keats converted two tries. For Ponsonby Longville, White and Wetherell scored tries. White converted three tries and kicked a penalty goal.
