ALLEGED PLOT AGAINST FRANCO REPORTED
(Rec. 11.35 a.m.) MADRID, October 17.
It is reliably reported that the police are investigating a plot in the province of Salamanca, allegedly by Communist terrorists, against the life of General Franco. The plot would have been carried out during General Franco’s return, from a visit to Portugal originally planned for this month, but pc tponed. The police said a mine was to have been laid and exploded under a bridge over which General Franco’s car would have passed.
