GREYMOUTH SAVAGE CLUB “RAID” ON WESTPORT KORERO

A successful “raid” on the Westport Savage Club was conducted by 45 members of the GreymouthJSavage Club on Saturday night. They were welcomed by Rangatira N. Ames who then handed control of the korero to Rangatira R. Squires (Greymouth). Mr Squires congratulated the Westport club on the progress it had made making particular reference to its enterprise in staging a successful revue. He also referred to the revival of interest in the Greymouth club, which now had over 120 members.

The Greymouth visitors entertained with a versatile programme of items, with Messrs A. Fyfe, A. Warnes and C. Awdry taking a leading part in choruses. A court scene was a popular item. Supper was served under the direction of Mr AV. Phibbs.
