REEFTON HOSPITAL BOARD DEPUTATION TO WELLINGTON
(0.C.) REEFTON,. This Day. Messrs C. Coxall (chairman) and J. J. Coghlan. . (member), of the Inangahua Hospital Board, left today for Wellington as a deputation from the board to the appropriate Ministers and departmental officers on the question of the hospital building programme. The deputation is to seek finality in regard to the ban for the new main hospital block and also in regard to supplies of steel and other building materials. It will press for an early decision on the question of the Health Department’s consent for the work to be commenced. PERSONAL
Mr D. P. Jenkins, the newlyappointed postmaster at Reefton, has arrived. He succeeds Mr L. A. Reinbacher, who has been in charge at Reefton for the last three years, and who will leave on Thursday for Oxford, his new office. He will be accompanied by Mrs Reinbacher.
Mr J. F. Lockington, formerly of Reefton, tied for first place with Mr B. Dingwall, of Christchurch, in the annual R.S.A. debating contest for the Russell Shield. Mr Lockington was a member of the Christchurch R.S.A. team. COAL PRODUCTION During the week ended October 7, 2075 tons of coal produced by the district mines was consigned from the Reefton railway yard.
