GUATEMALA AND BRITISH HONDURAS: CLAIM REJECTED

(Rec. 2 p.m.) . PARIS, October 11. The Guatemalan delegate, Mr Jukio Herrera, claimed in the United Nations Trusteeship Committee that British Honduras belonged to Guatemala. He added that Belize, so-called British Honduras, was occupied years ago by Britain without legal right. “We want to go on record as saying that we have sovereign rights to this territory.” The British delegate, Mr John Fletcher, said: “The United Kingdom has no doubts whatever of its sovereignty over British Honduras.”
