Labour Situation ® “There are indications that, the labour position for many categories of male man power is easing,” said the secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce (Mr G. W. Clinkard) on Saturday at Auckland. Mr Clinkard is visiting Auckland for an inspection of factories and industrial areas. “Female labour, however, is still in exceptionally keen demand,” he added. The general outlook for raw materials for secondary industries had improved considerably, but steel was still a major bottleneck, holding up normal maintenance and expansion. Conversely, stocks of raw materials were in some, cases in over supply, said Mr Clinkard.— (PA.) .
