RUGBY FOOTBALL J. K. McLEAN SCORED FOUR TRIES AGAINST BARBARIANS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 10. The outstanding feature of the final representative Rugby match of the season, between Auckland and the Barbarians yesterday, was the performance of the 1947 All Black wing threequarters, J. K. McLean, for Auckland, McLean scored four tries and outplayed P. Henderson, of Wanganui, a wing-three-quarters who has been chosen in the 1949 All Black team for South Africa.

Auckland won the match by 27 points to 13, after being donw 6 points to 8 at half-time. The Barbarians’ team included eight 1949 All Blacks, and Auckland had nine.
