LAWN TENNIS United Club Opened Season On Saturday
About 30 players were present on Saturday when the United Tennis Club held its official opening day. In the absence of the president, the club captain, Mr R. Hamilton, briefly addressed the gathering, welcoming the visitors and new members to the club. Declaring the 1948-49 season open, he wished all players a successful year. Although a high wind made playing conditions unpleasant, there was a good afternoon’s sport, the standard of play being high. Afternoon tea was served by a women’s committee.
