ATTEMPT TO KILL UNION PRESIDENT IS ALLEGATION
IRec. 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 7. Carl Bolton, a former president of the Ford branch of the United Automobile Workers, and two persons unknown, were formally charged today with assault with intent to kill the president of the United Automobile Workers, Walter Reuther, who was severely wounded by a shotgun blast on April 20 when a man fired through the window of his home. He lost the use of his right arm as a result of the shooting.
The police arrested Bolton on September 4 on a burglary charge.
