(P.A.) DUNEDIN, This-Day. ’ A resolution by the Dunedin Engineering Union, opposing peace-time conscription and endorsed by the Otago Trades Council, states: “We oppose any form of compulsory' military training and call on the Government to resist any further alignment with the Western Power politics group. Further, we call on the Government to press for a neutral bloc round the British Commonwealth countries, failing which- we call on the workers for united action to eliminate the possibility of another war.”
It was decided to write to all organisations affiliated to the council stating the council’s policy on the matter.
