BATTLE REPORTED FOR HEIGHTS IN PALESTINE AREA
(Recd. 2 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. An Israeli military spokesman said that a heavy battle is raging in Negrev, south Palestine, where Egyptian forces, supported by” tanks and aircraft, attacked two Israeli-held heights south of Gaza. , The heights changed hands twice yesterday and Israeli forces held them this morning under bombing attacks from Egyptian planes and attacks by tanks and infantry.
