MILK BOTTLERS SEEK 35-HOUR WORKING WEEK

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day.

The New Zealand Milk Pasteurising and Bottle Factories Employees' Union will seek a 35-hour week in five working days of seven hours each when the negotiations with the employers in Conciliation Council for a new agreement begin in Wellington on November 9. The union will ask that each worker be allowed his two days off consecutively.

New wage rates and classifications will be sought with a weekly wage of £9 15s for a foreman and £9 5s for the first assistant on any shift where the number of workers exceeds 25. The present rates are £7 2s 9d on any shift.where the number of workers exceeds 31.
