MIGRANTS FOR AUSTRALIA MAY ARRIVE BY AIR
(Rec. 11.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. An international scheme for bringing central European migrants to Australia by air is being formulated with the assistance of Australian National Airways. The general manager of the company. Mr 11. F. Walsh,, who arrived from New York last night, said he expected the company would earn 1,000,000 dollars yearly by bringing migrants from Paris. “All the arrangements have been . concluded,” he added. “It is all dollar business. We shall move large numbers of migrants from Paris along Empire routes in a series of charter flights, at least some of which will be financed by the International Relief Organisation of New York. “Nearly all the migrants will be displaced oersons from central Europe,” said Mr Nash.
