Clutha River.—For the week ended August 13, the Clutha River dredge at Alexandra worked 124 hours and recovered 90oz gold.—(P.A.) Loloma Dividend. —-Loloma (Fiji) Gold Mines, N.L., has declared its seventeenth dividend at the rate of 6d a share of 5s payable September /17. The previous dividend was 6d a share paid in December 1947. Associated Gold Dredge (N.Z.), Ltd.—For the week ended August 14, the Atarau dredge recovered 6(1 ounces from 33,600 yards in 122; dredging hours. Quill, Morris.—The directors of Quill, Morris (1936), Ltd., have declared on interim dividend of 3; per cent., at the rate of 7J per cent, per annum, free of social security charges, for the half-year ended July 31. Huddart Parker Returns.—The directors of Huddart Parker, Ltd., in an interim report, state that trading results showed a heavy falling off for the half-year ended June 30, because of the delay of three months J by the authorities in granting per-' mission to increase coastal freight rates, and the continued loss of earn- 1 ings by the Wanganella. Unchanged interim dividends of 5 per cent, ordinary and 3 per cent, preference have been declared, payable September 16 (ex September 6).
