FORMER RUHR “STEEL KING” CHARGED

(Rec 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 16

Fritz Thyssen; former Ruhr “steel king”, appeared before the German Denazification Court today, says the Associated Press Konigstein correspondent. Thyssen said he had no personal property.. He hoped to go to Argentina where his daughter lived. He was stateless, because Hitler had revoked his citizenship. Thyssen was charged with being a major Nazi because he supported the Nazi Party for 15 years. Thyssen has been ailing in a sanatorium. His trial is expected to last fpr weeks.
