Miss M. Anderson, M.L.C., left by this morning’s plane for Wellington. Mr D. S. Kennedy left by this morning’s express for Wellington. Miss D. Broad, Shakespeare street, will leave for England by the Akaroa next week. She will be accompanied by her brother, Mr C. V. N. Broad, of Feilding. The Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities’ Association of New Zealand announced today that M. S. Blackley, of Hutt Valley, a member of its executive committee, has been appointed the association’s delegate to the annual conference of the Electricity Supply Association of Australia at Mount Buffalo in November. —(P.A.)

Prior to his departure on transfer to Christchurch on Saturday, Mr L. Ford, a member of the St John’s Church choir, was met by members of the choir and presented with a propelling pencil. The presentation was made by Mr A. Agnew. Mr Ford was a member of the teaching staff at the Grey Main School. The resignation of Miss B. Muir, teacher at the Greymouth Technical High School since 1938, was accepted by the Board of Governors at last evening’s meeting, and it was decided to forward to her a letter expressing the board’s warm appreciation of her service.
