Women’s Indoor Basketball
The North Island women’s indoor basketball championship was won at New Plymouth on Saturday night by Palmerston North. The 16 teams competing were divided into four sections, the winners of which were Palmerston orth. Wellington, Hamilton, and' Auckland. Results:—Semi-finals: Palmerston North 42, Auckland 21; Wellington 31. Hamilton 21. Final: Palmerston North 28. Wellington 22.— (P.A.) Nelson Retains Nordon Cup Nelson hockey representatives retained the Nordon Cup for the eleventh time when they beat Marlborough by 4 goals to 0, at Nelson on Saturday. The trophy holders led 3-0 at half-time. Tire strength of the Nelson forwards, who gave a fine display of scientific short passing, was the deciding factor, Scorers were J. Botting, F. Gribble, B. Hurst, and J. Stewart.— (P.A.)
