RUGBY LEAGUE FIXTURES ARRANGED FOR SCHOOLBOY REPRESENTATIVES
, A heavy programme of schoolboys’ representative matches has been arranged by the West Coast Rugby League for the forthcoming school holidays, involving visits to and from Canterbury. The senior team, which was to have taken part in the Dominion tournament at New Plymouth (cancelled because of the infantile paralysis outbreak in the North Island) will now play in Christchurch for the Stuart Cup. The team will leave Greymouth on August 26 and will play matches in Christchurch on August 28 and 30, returning to Greymouth on August 31. On September 2 the Canterbury senior team will return the visit and will play West Coast at Greymouth on September 4. After this match a South Island team will be selected and will play a West Coast fifth grade team at Greymouth on September 5. The Canterbury players will return to their homes on September 7.
The West Coast ninth grade team (midgets) will accompany the senior schooibovs on their visit to Christchurch and will play Canterbury for the Stuart Cup. The West Coast sixth grade team will meet Canterbury for the Norman Cox Cup at Greymouth next-week-end. The seventh grade team will travel to Christchurch on Saturday next and will play Canterbury for the Innes Cup on Monday, August 23, returning to Greymouth the next day. _________
