Citizens’ Labour Gang
A citizens’ labour gang was again at work on Saturday repairing tram tracks at Lyall Bay, Wellington. Arrangements made were similar to those of last Saturday, and the volunteers were supervised by skilled tramways department workmen. Plans are being made for the organisation of similar volunteer labour by citizens at Island Bay, and it is expected that a gang will be available soon. Gangs of tramway department employees were repairing tram tracks in the city and suburbs on Saturday and work was continued on Sunday.— (P.A.)
