ALLEGED INTOXICATION WHILE IN CHARGE OF CAR

(P.A.) DUNEDIN, This Day. William Edgar Hazlett, a farmer, aged 42, of Invercargill, was remanded to June 21 when he appeared before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M,. in the Police Court'today, charged with being intoxicated in charge of a car last night. Bail was granted. Counsel, asking for a remand, said a plea of not guilty would be entered and witnesses would have to come from as far away as Fairlie. Senior-Sergeant D. Vaughan said that, charges of mischief and assaulting a constable would also be preferred. An application for the suppression of Hazlett’s name was refused.
