Mrs J. Reeves left today on a visit, to Wellington. Mr T. Mitchell, postmaster at Hokitika, has received notice of his transfer to a similar position at Gore. Mr and Mrs R. Woodward left today on their return to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs A. Lamberton, Cobden, left today for Ilford, England. The Rev. H. L. Richards, of Leeston-, has been elected president of the New Zealand Social Credit Association.—(P.A.) Mr W. C. McDonnell has been nominated by several Dunedin trade unions as New Zealand delegate to the International Labour Conference which is to be held in San Francisco in June. An election will be held in May. Mr J. Watson, of the teaching staff of the Westport Technical .High School, has been nominated by the Millerton Miners’ Union for a position on a commission which is to investigate humidity in the coal mines of the Dominion. Dr. F. Bielschowsky, who has’been appointed by the New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society to take charge ol its laboratories at the Otago Medical School, will arrive in Wellington by the Ruahine on April 10.
