AMERICA GIVES 29 SHIPS TO ITALY
(Rec. 12.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, March 16. President Truman today ordered the transfer of 29 merchantmen to Italy as a gesture of American goodwill. Fifteen of the vessels are the Liberty type. The remainder are Italian ships seized during the war.
