30 KILLED WHEN AIRCRAFT CRASHES

SAN FRANCISCO, March 13. The shattered burned wreckage of a North-west Airlines’ aircraft which was on a flight from Shanghai to Edmonton, was located today at the foot of a glacier on Mount Sanford, 200 miles east of Anchorage, Alaska. This is to the right of the course the aircraft was scheduled to follow. Low-flying rescue aeroplanes reported that there was no possible chance of survivors. The aeroplane carried 24 passengers and a crew of six. The aeroplane apparently crashed into the 16,208-foot Mount Sanford at about 11,000 feet. The passengers on the wrecked aeroplane were the crew of a tanker. They were returning from Shanghai, where they had delivered the vessel.
