PRIORITIES IN AIR TRAVEL MAY BE RESUMED
(p.a.) Auckland, March 13. The possibility of travel, priofifies on airways between Auckland ' arid Sydney being reintroduced is being freely discussed in travel agencies in Auckland. . It has been suggested that the restrictions might not be quite as sweeping as those in force during; and for'some time after, the war, but that some measure of control might be necessary. The general manager of Tasman Empire Airways (Mr G. N. Roberts) was unable to comment. The shortage of shipping is believed to be mainly responsible for the substantial accumulation in Auckland of persons ■ wishing to travel to Australia which, will be aggravated by the temporary withdrawal of the Wahine in May. The Auckland-Sydney airline was never intended to carry practically all the traffic offering. * It is felt in some quarters that it would, not be surprising if the Government were to decide that at least a proportion of the seats on Tasman aircraft should be retained under the priority system for travellers whose business is of an urgent..nature.
