DROUGHT BROKEN IN WAIRARAPA
(P.A.) MASTERTON, This Day. The drought in the Wairarapa was
broken last night and today when rainfall, measuring from 67 points to one and a-half inches was recorded for 24 hours. Drizzling rain continues.
Conditions were getting desperate. Some farmers had been obliged to go for water. The rain will mean tens of thousands of pounds to Wairarapa in production.
