Backed as unbeatable, the chestnut, as expected, was the .first to beome prominent to be three lengths clear at the end of a furlong, With half a mile to go she- had increased her lead to six lengths, but shortly after turning for home began to stop under her 9.7, and, althojigh she held on gamely, was beaten ffito fourth place.
