OBITUARY Mr Bartholomew Dowell
The death occurred this morning at Hokitika of Mr Bartholomew Dowell, aged 64. He was born at Hokitika and spent most of his life there.
Mr Dowell served in the South African War and the First World War. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Messrs D. R. Dowell (Greymouth) and E. Dowell (Christchurch), and four sisters, Mesdames P. Freeman, S. P. Briggs (Christchurch), G. Wright (Runanga), and C. S. Brooks (Hokitika).
Mr Robert Fraser
The death occurred at Greymouth this morning, after a fairly lengthy illness, of Mr Robert Fraser, aged 47. Born at Cowden Beath, Fifeshire, Scotland, Mr Fraser came to New Zealand 22 years ago, working first in the mines at Denniston and for the past 11 years at the Strongman mine. Mr Fraser had no relatives in New Zealand and for the past 11 years had lived in Runanga with Mr R. Wright. He is survived by two sisters, one of whom resides inCanada and the other in Scotland. The funeral will leave the residence of Mr Wright for the Karoro cemetery on Thursday afternoon.
