TAXI DRIVERS SEEK TO SAFEGUARD PETROL SUPPLIES
(p.a.) Wellington, This Day. Representations with the object of safeguarding petrol supplies to the industry are being made by Auckland taxi drivers who are members of the Drivers’ Union to the Minister of Transport. The secretary of the New Zealand Drivers’ Federation, Mr A. C. Melville, said today that his organisation had considered several points raised by Auckland taximen, but he was of the opinion that the petrol question was only one aspect, although a very important one, of the problems affecting the industry.
