CONGRESS LEADERS TO DISCUSS HELP FOR EUROPE

WASHINGTON, October 21

Mr Truman has called another conference of- Congressional leaders at the White House on Thursday to discuss the emergency foreign aid programme. Invitations have been sent to 11 key Republicans and Democrats whose approval must be obtained if the European winter, aid programme is to be effective. When Mr Truman held a similar conference on September 29 the interim aid programme was fixed between 580,000,000 dollars and 800,000,000 dollars. Aid for Italy is now the most vital problem.
