RUSSIAN SUPPORT FOR JEWISH STATE WELCOMED BY IRGUN
(Rec. 3.5 p - m j E .- IusALjE M, Oct. 15. The Irgun Zvai Leumi radio expressed appreciation of the Russian support for the creation of a Jewish State, but claimed that the Irgun would not be satisfied if Palestine was partitioned. This might mean that the majority of Jews would be unable to return to Palestine and they might even see Jewish police deporting illegal immigrants. “We will still settle for nothing less than a Palestine on both sides of the Jordan,” said the radio. The director of the Palestine medical services said there was a grave risk of the Egyptian cholera spreading to Palestine. The Government was at present vaccinating 120,000 people weekly and intended to vaccinate the whole population. The Ministry of Health reported 132 cholera deaths in the past 24 hours in Cairo. This is the highest day’s total so far. There are 352 new cases.
