U.S. AND FOOD: DEWEY’S VIEWS ON NUTRITION

The United States had a binding obligation to see that, no' American was poorly fed, said the Governor of New York State;‘Mr T; E. Dewey, in a naticn-wide broadcast. He warned against badly-planned generosity in the distribution .of .food in Europe. America must do her honest share in feeding hungry people overseas, but there was a prior obligation at home, he said.
“The high cost of living has forced some Americans to change their living habits to a point which actually threatens their health and vitality,” he added.
