MR BOUSTRIDGE IS REQUESTED TO CONTEST MAYORALTY
There is stated to be a possibility that Mr F. F. Boustridge will be a candidate for the Greymouth Mayoralty at the election which will be held in November. The present Mayor (Mr F. A. Kitchingham) announced some time ago that he would not seek re-election and he has not altered that decision.
No official announcement has yet been made by any candidate for the Mayoralty. Mr Boustridge was approached on Friday by a deputation of citizens of Greymouth and was strongly urged to offer himself as a candidate. He promised to consider the request and to give a definite answer early this week. Mr Boustridge is a member of the Borough Council and chairman of the Westland Catchment Board. He is chairman of the borough works and town planning committees.
