The Professional Golfers’ Association has invited Max Faulkner, the Weston-Super-Mare professional, to join the British Ryder Cup team to jolay the United States at Portland, Oregon, on November 1. The Association had left the last place open for the winner of the News of the World championship, but the two eligible competitors, Burton and Smithers both lost their matches today. - • n XX The Ryder cup team is: Cotton (captain). Daly. Adams, S. King, Rees, Ward. E. Green, Lees and Faulkner. Daly and the Belgian van Donck will contest the final of the News of the World professional match-play championship over 36 holes tomorrow. In the fourth round Daly beat Green 4 and 3, van Donck beat D. J. Rees 3 and 2, Ward beat R. Bqrton 2 and 1 and Cotton beat Smithers, one up. In the semi-finals Daly beat Cotton 3 and 2 and van Donck beat Ward 4 and 3. '
