Leper Fund Appeal

Sir, —Ever since the New Zealand public has taken an interest in our leper friends in the Pacific Islands, the number of patients annually discharged as cured has increased in a remarkable way. To date 803 sufferers have left Makogai for their homes. Also a number of patients from other leprosaria have been released.

The medicine of kindness has largely contributed to this phenomenal success. May I once again appeal for the means to continue this good work. Gifts of cash or goods will be much appreciated, and acknowledged by me personally.— Yours etc. P. J. TWOMEY. Lepers’ Trust Board Christchurch, September 25.
