Car With One Speed

Reporting the need for two cars to aid the work in his great African area the Bishop of Central Tanganyika (the Rt. Rev. W. Wynn Jones) told the congregation at the Nelson Cathedral that he hoped to be able to take two cars back with him when he Ipft New Zealand. At present, the missionaries had only one car. It had only one speed. It would not go forward, but could be operated freely backwards. Dean Haggitt made an appeal to open a fund to purchase at least one car for the Bishop and the response op the part of the copgrega,ion:‘was very satisfactory.
