PRISON SENTENCES FOR THEFT AND FALSE PRETENCES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In the Supreme Court before- Mr justice , Blair, John Malcolm Kay, an accountant, aged 41, who had pleaded guilty at Gisborne to 14 charges of false pretences and one of theft by misappropriation, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention on each charge, the sentences to be served concurrently at Waikeria.

Norman Leslie Osborne, aged 22, a seaman, was sentenced to three years’ reformative detention on each of 14 charges of breaking and entering, three of attempted breaking and entering, and 10 of breaking and entering with intent, the terms to be concurrent.
