RUGBY FOOTBALL NELSON DEFEAT WEST COAST ON HEAVY GROUND

The Seddon Shield schoolboys’ Rugby tournament was continued yesterday at Westport. Playing on a heavy ground, Nelson defeated West Coast by 14 points to nil. Nelson had the advantage during most of the game thotigh the West Coast backs made determined efforts to break through and at times carried the play to the Nelson goal line. The Nelson team owe their victory to’ the grand work of their forwards who acquitted themselves well in the game. In the other match, played yesterday, Buller outclassed Golden BayMotuekato win by 10 points to 6.
