Constable H. Cloake, of Greymouth, has received notice of his transfer to Timaru, and will leave next Thursday. He has been stationed al Greymouth for the past seven years.

Mr W. G. Butler, of the staff of the Public Trust Office, Greymouth, has received notice of transfer, to Wellington. He will be replaced at Greymouth by Mr J. W. Stocker, of Nelson. Mr Butler is a West Coast Rugby representative player. Mr Justice Archer, of Wellington, has been appointed chairman of the Goods-Service Charges Tribunal for the term expiring on September 30, states the Gazette. He replaces Sir Francis Frazer, of Wellington, who has relinquished that office.—(P.A.) Mr W. J. Rogers, M.L.C., has been appointed a member of the Town Planning Board in place of Mr J. W. Andrews who has resigned.—(P.AJ Selected as the first New Zealand airman to receive peace-time tactical flying training in the United States, Flight-Lieutenant L. A. Rayner, D.F.C., R.N.Z.A.F., left for San Francisco by the British Commonwealth Pacific Airways Skymaster early yesterday morning.— (P.A.) Mr. J. C. Corbishley, district officer, Labour and Employment Department, Greymouth, will leave next Tuesday for Wellington to attend the annual conference of the executive council of the Public Service Association. During his absence he will be relieved by Mr D. T. C. Brayshay, assistant district officer.
