Minister Appointed For Commonwealth Relations
(Rec. 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 14. The King, has approved the appointment of Mr Arthur Henderson as Minister of State for Commonwealth Relations.
A No. 10 Downing Street announcement says the Secretary for India, Lord Listowel, will hand the seals of office to the King tomorrow, and the office of Under-Secretary of State for India will also end. Mr Henderson has resigned as Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Burma. Mr Bottomley will continue as Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations in the enlarged Commonwealth Relations Department. The j oint Under-Secretary will be Sir Archibald Carter, present permanent Under-Secretary for India.
